The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the operational efficiency of manufacturing by maintaining production equipment in a good state of repair by diagnosing problems, facilitating repairs and executing preventive maintenance programs. Applicants should have a working knowledge of computers, AC/DC drives, three phase power, 240 and 460 volt circuits, PLC’s, solid state relays, and an understanding of mathematics, basic algebra and geometry. Day to day activities include:
Learning the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by reviewing diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications and electrical and electronic wiring schematics.
Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removing defective parts by dismantling; using hoists, cranes, and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
Fabricating repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Maintaining inventories of equipment, parts, and supplies by placing orders and verifying receipt.
Expanding technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
Complying with procedures, rules, and regulations that maintain a safe and clean working environment.Click here to view/download application for employment.
